Julie has an undergraduate degree in English and Journalism, and MA’s in Theology and in Creative Writing. For many years she worked in fund development and management for non-profit organizations and later in horticulture. Involved in her Anglican Church, Julie currently serves as an Intercessor, Catechist and as a member of the Ordination and Church Planting Discernment Committee. At Regent College (Vancouver B.C.) she edits their journal, CRUX, gives occasional lectures, and teaches the iconic "Boat Course" with her husband, Craig. They have four adult children, and Julie is a passionate gardener and has been involved for many years
at the University of British Columbia Botanical Garden.
Her writing work appears on a range of websites and in variety of publications including Fine Gardening, Horticulture, Faith Today, Real Simple, The Anglican Planet, Reader’s Digest, and The Englewood Review of Books.
